My name is Amal Mohamoud, and I am a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist with over a decade of experience working within diverse communities. As a Black Muslim woman, I deeply understand the complex realities that come with navigating multiple marginalized identities. After losing my mother to suicide, I found healing through faith, therapy, and community. This journey inspires my commitment to mental health advocacy and to walking alongside others in their healing.
I support individuals, couples, and families in building emotional and spiritual resilience, helping them navigate anxiety, relationship challenges, grief, identity exploration, and more. This work is not just my profession—it’s my calling.
-
I use a compassionate, trauma-informed, and culturally grounded approach, integrating:
Narrative Therapy
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
Islamically Integrated Psychotherapy
Spiritual and Personal Development Frameworks
Sessions are tailored to the unique identity, values, and goals of each client. I create a validating space where people feel seen and supported in their growth.
